Each year, over 600,000 people return from prison to U.S. communities. A staggering 33% remain unemployed for four or more years after release, and almost 50% are reincarcerated within three years.
Finding and maintaining a job is one of the greatest obstacles to successful reentry into society.
START_OPP gives returning citizens the tools to succeed in their “next chapter” by offering training, employment, mentorship, and reentry services that support their successful reintegration in the community. The organization provide employers with the tools they need to help make START-OPP participants become their most successful employees.
